now, the c.h.p. is investigating a devastating head-on crash in napa. we were over the scene around 7:30 this morning. according to the napa valley register, a woman in her 20's was declared dead after crossing the double yellow line in her honda civic and crashing into another vehicle. two people in the other vehicle survived. >> the manhunt for a castro valley man accused of shooting and killing his wife is over. the 45-year-old is jailed right now after he turned himself in. nick? >> the arrest war ran was issued for the man on saturday night. he turned himself in last night. we have a picture of him on our screen now, this is 46-year-old fang me of castro valley wanted in the shooting death of 45-year-old, his wife and mother his two children. officials say that he surrendered to the east bay police department in hayward and taken into custody without incident. according to the alameda county sheriff deputy when investigators tried to speak with him he asked foe an attorney. as of today, he has not talked to officials about the case. deputies found the body in the home on saturday

. the deputy had bay area roots. was a graduate of napa high, and spent the last 26 years in law enforcement. we have team coverage tonight. we begin with ken pritchett in the shawl town of cleone, just north of fort bragg. that's where the shooting took place. ken, you have learned the suspect did not commit suicide, but was shot by a fort bragg police officer. >> reporter: around 5:00, at a 5:00 press conference the sheriff said he believed that the suspect had taken his own life. but at 8:00, the sheriff updated this story and said they now believe the suspect was shot and killed by a fort bragg police lieutenant that came in a hail of gunfire between that police officer and that suspect. that exchange of gunfire came minutes after the deputy lost his life. deputy ricky dell fiorentino. >> i said ricky, i think i need to find a way to clone 30 more of you. he said no, boss, the world is not ready for that. but the world is ready for that. >> reporter: the deputy's life came to an end on this dirt road. his car, we're told riddled with bullets from an assault rifle. the suspect

see this north to northeasterly wind effect throughout napa and also livermore. that's going to keep it clear not only for tonight but right around tomorrow morning. as you get a look outside of that sky camera network, still holding to mild temperatures in the south bay. also the peninsula with sunny skies across the bay. right now the one thing bugging you in the south bay is that high pollen and that wind that has increased as well. we'll take you to some of the wind across san francisco. you can see the camera shaking quite a bit, coming out of the south at 13 miles per hour. so a slight onshore flow but not expecting any fog with this. what we have happening that's creating some of this wind, at least right now, is the fact that we have high pressure offshore. then very close to that we have this trough of low pressure across the west. just because those systems are so close together, it's helping to ramp up the wind. so we've got the wind right now. as we head throughout thursday, high pressure not going to go anywhere. it's going to stay mild and sunny as spring officially sta
